Prepare a New Zealand Rental Listing from Your Property Records

Prepare a New Zealand rental listing draft from records you already have. Check current facts, review sources and save selected changes in Proppi. Rental publishing remains in development.

Preparing a New Zealand rental listing starts with checking the property file, not writing promotional copy. In the Proppi digital beta, you can request a rental draft, review the supporting records and apply the changes you choose. Saving a rental draft does not publish it.

Start with the records you already have

You do not need to rebuild your whole filing system to begin. Pick one New Zealand residential rental property and check the information you have for it:

  • Your current property details, including the address and features you can substantiate.
  • Existing tenancy and inspection records, noting that older records may no longer describe the property accurately.
  • Photos you have the right to use, checked against the property’s current condition.
  • The rent you intend to ask, the availability date and any policies that you must decide.

A saved agreement might contain the previous rent. An old condition report might describe a feature that has since changed. Treat those documents as evidence to check, not as an automatic instruction to advertise the same details today.

Prepare the draft in Proppi

  1. Open the property. In your Proppi workspace, check the property details and documents. Resolve obvious omissions or stale facts first.
  2. Open its New Zealand residential rental listing. Select Draft with Proppi to request supported preparation from the property file.
  3. Return to Work. The saved request shows its state. If it needs attention, check the missing information rather than assuming the result is ready.
  4. Review the result and its sources. Compare suggested wording and details with the saved listing. Confirm rent, availability, photos and policies yourself.
  5. Choose what to keep. Select Apply selected changes, then Review saved listing to inspect the result and outstanding requirements.

This is a reviewable draft workflow, not a promise that every property detail will be found. If your documents conflict or do not support a claim, check the original record and correct the information before relying on the draft.

For the current product workflow and its boundaries, see the New Zealand rental example for self-managing landlords.

Drafting and publishing are different jobs

Proppi’s digital beta can prepare a New Zealand residential rental listing draft for you to review and save. Publishing rental listings is still in development. Do not treat a saved draft as an advertised property or a confirmed booking.

New Zealand sale listings have a separate, supported Trade Me publishing workflow, with the account holder’s approval required before publication. That does not extend publishing rights or availability to rental listings.

Proppi is also building towards broader property coordination, maintenance and accounting support; those on-the-ground services are not currently available in the beta.

Try it with one real property

If you self-manage a New Zealand rental, start with one property and the records you already hold. Review what Proppi prepares and tell the team where the workflow still needs help.
